As a kid I always wanted to be a senior to get school over with but now that I’m actually one, I’m a bit nervous. For me the first day of school was always kind of boring because it’s always about the rules and introducing yourself but when you think about it, this is my last first day of high school, my last year! The year where I need to stay focus, on pace, but most importantly have fun because you might not see my friends anymore.
This year I want it to be different from all my other years especially my junior year because I was really stressed out for turning everything in late and falling behind. My plan is to at least stick with all my teachers by turning in my work on time, stay focused in class, and ask for help when needed because I want to enjoy my weekends with my family and friends and not be doing homework. I know that this year I have some difficult classes that will need my full attention for this reason I won’t slack off in any of my classes so I could pass all of them.
I honestly find my first period Spanish 1 easy because I know the subject really well. When I selected this class I thought it was the one for spanish speakers but I guess it wasn’t. My second period is English 12, this is the class that I don’t look forward having because it involves a lot of reading and presenting and well those are my weaknesses. I know this is a very helpful class because you learn how to write, even though I’m not the best writer, I love writing. Government is my third period, this class I do like for the reason that it’s not that difficult and you learn more about our government and how they make all the laws. My fourth period is very interesting because it involves learning how to be a teacher which is Careers in Education 1. This class involves interacting with children, learning the different and important qualities a teacher needs to have, and how to become one. Chemistry is my fifth period and well it’s really interesting because it involves experiments and math. However, the calculations have to be more precise and accurate. Honestly math is my favorite subject and I couldn't find the point in school without a math class so I selected Trigonometry which I have for sixth period. I love solving problems and learning new equations, but I find this math course a bit more difficult than the other math courses because you go more in depth in an equation. For my seventh period I chosed to be a T.A. for Mr. Smith this will give me skills on how to help a teacher and see how math teachers teach their class. I also have CNA for my eighth period this will give me more information about being a nurse. It will also give me a real life experience on how to take care of others.
In the meanwhile I’m still debating on what I want to be. I started off by wanting to be a teacher because I was motivated by my elementary teachers and I love working with kids but then in my Sophomore year things got complicated. I started learning about the medical field and grew a passion of helping people in need. Now I’m a senior and yet I still don’t have my mind straight.
