Autobiographical Narrative
My family is the most important people in my life because they have shaped me into who I am today, they have taught me to be respectful, responsible, to never give up, and most importantly to value life. They have told me to never regret something I have done, but to learn my lesson and if I want something to go for it. I would like to make my entire family proud but most importantly myself by graduating high school and be the first one to go to college. I know it’s not going to be easy but I will try my hardest to achieve it, like someone said “Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”
Though my life wasn’t always the best life I wanted in other words my parents weren’t always supportive, I’m proud of both of my parents. In fact, before high school I didn’t care if my parents supported me because I was still passing my classes. Although it was really tough for me not seeing my parents happy for the fact that my dad would hardly be in my house since he was an alcoholic. He would come to my house in the middle of the night or if he was there he would be sleeping. However this all changed on my sister’s wedding, the day that my dad started to drink but this time a lot. Although he knew he was drunk, he decided to drive to the store without telling anyone. Later in the day my uncle informed us the he was in jail and that the police had taken away the truck. My family and I were all really concerned about my dad, but at the moment we couldn’t do anything so decided to go on with the wedding. During the following days, he would call once in awhile but it was really hard not seeing him at all. The most hardest thing was answering my little sisters where he was. Time passed and one day my dad called to inform us that he was going to have a court where the judge was going to decide if he would go back to Mexico or stay, but since he is an immigrant, there were more chances he would get deported. My mom searched for many lawyers that worked with immigration but at the end my uncles and her found an excellent lawyer that promised to do everything he could do to get him out. After a day or two the lawyer called to inform us that he was able to get him out but under some conditions that the judge had ordered. I know that leaving something so addicting is really tough but seeing my dad, since the wedding day, not drinking any alcohol, anything is possible if you take the first step.
Now I’m proud to say the I have two excellent parents that have been there for their children and been much more supportive. Now we are more closer than ever and I know if I need something I could always count on them. Also I will always keep this in mind, if something seems difficult try my hardest to accomplish it because if I propose something to myself I know I can reach it.
